Paula Polito, JRSN Advisory Council Member and Owner of Beary Cherry Tree Child Care, provided public testimony to the Louisiana Senate Finance Committee on behalf of JRSN. She urged the committee to support the allocation of $44 million to early care and education (as proposed by HB 1) and to increase the appropriation to the Louisiana Early Childhood Education Fund to at least $50 million (HB 406) from where it currently stands at $40 million:
“It is crucial that the Legislature make the biggest possible investment in early care and education this year. Who knows what future economic forecasts could bring, but big investments in tools like the Louisiana Early Childhood Education Fund–which incentivizes local investments in early care and education by offering a dollar-for-dollar match–could help put Louisiana back on the right path for the future.”
